Updated Apr 29, 2022 by Cameron Roy Hall: Awards and accolades are all the same falling onto It Takes Two as it garners the recognition it deserves for being a fantastic cooperative game. A huge part of why it is existence commended is its level pattern. As we follow Cody and May through every different chapter, new mechanics and environments go along the gameplay feeling fresh and exciting. There's never been a better time to jump back into the tiny and wonderful globe of Information technology Takes Two.
9 The Shed
In the Shed, both players will find themselves equipped with elements of their environment. May handles the head of a hammer, breaking everything in her path. Cody tin can throw nails to jam gears, and even provide a path for his partner. The dissimilarity between Cody and May equally people and their current doll forms is highlighted by their tiny size in a room so familiar to them.
This level is dandy fun, and you can expect to chase downwards ability cells, dodge nails, and battle a giant vacuum cleaner hellbent on revenge. In comparison to other featured chapters, though, the concept is fairly straightforward hither.
8 The Attic
The Attic chapter focuses on May reigniting her forgotten passion for music. She can shout to break obstacles, and sing to enhance records into the air and provide a fashion through. Cody, on the other hand, has a symbol that he uses like a frisbee. Together, players tin can explore the inside of an old jukebox and the far reaches of musical sky.
The Attic is littered with minigames, including a literal game of chess, and they're all fun! This affiliate features a lot of interesting concepts, but can too feel massively disjointed at times.
seven Space Station
Rose'due south toy Moon Baboon, that she got from the space museum, has overheard Cody and May saying they need to make Rose cry (long story). He's decided his mission is to protect Rose, and and so he tries to go out you stranded in space forever. This level is total of anti-gravity antics, with May having the ability to walk on the walls and Cody the power to change size.
While wild, the Infinite Station chapter'south aesthetic can leave you staring in awe. Also, the puzzles challenge you to think harder than always. Y'all have to reinsert batteries to accuse the final portal, leading to a battle with Moon Baboon. Y'all even become to fly his spaceship after dealing enough damage to him.
half dozen Pillow Fort
Rose'due south Pillow Fort is the affiliate that forces you lot to have that all of your personal attempts at making a fort have been hilariously subpar. The entire thing is soft and magical, and excitingly explorable.
You can mess effectually with plenty of novelties that belong to Rose, such every bit the Compose-A-Sketch and a spinning World, but we recommend you caput directly for the Tank minigame. There'south even an easter egg featuring Vincent and Leo from A Way Out, another co-op game made by the aforementioned developers as Information technology Takes Ii.
v The Tree
In The Tree affiliate, Cody and May observe themselves captured by talking squirrels who realize they can't die. The scheming squirrels (who take an entire civilisation inside the tree in Cody and May's backyard) decide that they're the perfect people to fight the ongoing wasp threat that has plagued the tree. If you lot play as May they'll hand yous a weapon that fires matchsticks, while playing as Cody means you lot'll be shooting tree sap.
Together yous'll create explosive concatenation reactions to progress through the tree and blow attacking wasps out of the heaven. There's a wholesome opportunity to pose and take photos together with your own giant camera, too, but the existent kicker is the aeroplane section that leads into a Mortal Kombat battle. Seriously.
4 Gates Of Time
Cody and May take been transported into their cuckoo clock, and now must fly on stunning mechanical birds to navigate their way around. Cody has been granted the ability to reverse and speed up fourth dimension, whilst May can at present place a clone of herself to teleport to. Once again, y'all must utilize these powers to solve puzzles.
They come in handy when fighting a clockwork bull, specially every bit a clone can make a smashing decoy. The time-bending nature of this chapter will have you light-headed as you frantically spring over spinning clock hands and relive the past few moments over and over once more. Gates Of Time also wins points for being both fantastical and thematically coherent all the way through.
3 Road To The Magic Castle
At this point in It Takes 2, your objective is to get to Rose'southward toy elephant Cutie (brace for a little trauma when you get at that place), which means reaching the castle she is Queen of. This section of the game is total of activities, including a pirate ship fight with a behemothic toy octopus, and a section in which both players control toy dinosaurs and one must help the other navigate a treacherous path.
At that place's a elevation-down RPG section that transforms both players into D&D classes, only most of the Route To The Magic Castle affiliate is circus-themed. Go ready to propel each other from canons and try your hand at being a trapeze artist.
2 The Garden
This chapter, The Garden, is second-to-last in the game. Cody discovers that his greenhouse has been taken over past infection because he gave up on his passion. He and May must combine both of their abilities to restore vitality to the garden. These include May's water gun and scythe, which help her not only attack enemies but h2o soil then that Cody tin can transform into a diversity of plant life.
The Garden level is carefully thought out and incredibly detailed, which makes information technology then enjoyable to play. Take extra care when sneaking past the sleeping moles, as you don't desire to get caught.
1 Snow Globe
The Snow Globe chapter has Cody and May utilizing magnets to traverse a regal world. The earth includes a fully explorable hamlet, packed with life and minigames. At that place are segments that feature ice skating, snowball fights, and underwater candy factories. At one bespeak, it's your mission to reunite a family unit of turtles, likewise.
Ironically, this chapter also features the get-go, genuine kindness between Cody and May, as they reminisce about some of their better memories. Nosotros tin't stress plenty how beautiful this part of It Takes 2 is, and we highly recommend slowing downwardly to take it all in.
